Ofsted Inspection Report - April 2026
The report highlights many of the positive features of the school.
- In the Reception year, children get off to a wonderful start at this school. From the moment they walk through the door, they enter a calm, welcoming and language-rich environment where they feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
- Leaders care deeply about every child and are committed to doing right by all of them. They lead the school with clarity and courage.
- Pupils feel happy, safe and proud to be part of Heath Mount Primary School.
- Pupils behave well and attend school regularly.
- Pupils arrive eager to start the day, often skipping through the gate.
- Pupils feel that they truly belong here.
- Staff teach phonics every day in a structured, consistent way, modelling sounds clearly and giving every child the time and support that they need to practise.
- Pupils learn to read with confidence.
- Pupils write with accuracy and increasing length. They use vocabulary precisely and recall what they have learned previously.
- The curriculum is ambitious and identifies key knowledge and skills that leaders want pupils to know.
- Teaching is precise and purposeful.
- The school has high expectations for disadvantaged pupils, those with special educational needs / disabilities (SEND) or those who face other barriers to their learning.
- The school ensures that all pupils can join in with all aspects of school life including clubs, trips and the wider experiences the school provides.
- The school has developed warm and supportive relationships with parents and carers.
